Abstract

The article discusses the problems of the development of the modern Buryat language in the Republic of Buryatia. It gives a brief analysis of the outcomes of this development in the approximately thirty years from the establishment of the legal status of the Buryat language as an official language in the republic. The study points out the problems, controversial points in the process of Buryat language becoming official. It gives the meaning of functional isomorphism in this process. The authors give the specific results and recommendations for the constructive expansion of the functional opportunities of the Buryat language.
