Abstract
Introduction. The need to improve military-patriotic education is due to the need for comprehensive implementation of state tasks for the intensive introduction of national ideological guidelines that can consolidate society and spiritually strengthen the state. Its importance increases significantly in the context of the actual use of troops (forces) against external armed aggression. The analysis of the state humanitarian policy during most of the years of Ukraine's independence showed that not enough attention was paid to the national-patriotic education of the youth. In this regard, a number of problems have arisen, which still hamper the effectiveness of the entire system of military-patriotic education of youth in Ukraine and its motivation for military service.Purpose. Identify current issues of military-patriotic education of servicemen and youth and provide legal, ideological, political, pedagogical recommendations for its improvement and motivation of youth to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the face of armed aggression.Methods. General scientific methods were used: analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, integrated approach; methods of empirical research: observation, method of statistics, sociological surveys; special methods: expert evaluations, analysis of independent characteristics, content analysis of guiding documents.Originality. The topical problems of the organization of military-patriotic education at the state and at the operational-strategic level in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are systematized; the ways of improvement of the modern normative-legal and program-methodical base of the organization of military-patriotic education of youth and its motivation to military service are updated.Conclusion. In the conditions of the development of the hybrid war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the previous ones intensified and new problems of military-patriotic education of the youth appeared, which had a negative effect on the combat capability of the troops (forces). The recommendations offered in the article allow to improve the system of military-patriotic education in Ukraine. Criteria for the effectiveness of military-patriotic education of young people and their motivation to perform military service need further research.
