Abstract
The article considers the current problem of implementing the psychological and pedagogical potential of animation in the education of children of primary school age. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, the problems, conditions and prospects for the development of the psychological and pedagogical potential of animation in teaching children at the stage of primary general education are revealed. The criteria for selecting cartoons for viewing are defined. Both the positive influence that animated films have on children of primary school age and the risks of their use are highlighted and described.
