Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of professionalism on class satisfaction and exercise adherence. The subjects of the study were to participated in the pilates program for at least one week in more than a month at the Pilates Center in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The survey instrument was analyzed using three factors as the instructor’s professionalism (teaching knowledge. basic principles, membership management, teaching skills, personality), class satisfaction (psychological, physical, social, educational satisfaction), and exercise adherence (predisposition, probability, reinforcement). Summarizing the results, the instructor’s professionalism had a statistically significant influence on the class satisfaction and the exercise adherence. In conclusion, in order for Pilates members to be satisfied the class and to continue the exercise, an instructors must establish a positive relationship by communicating with the members through continuous personal counseling, and knowledge of the instructor on various exercise experiences.
