Abstract

The article states that in the XXI century there are significant changes that affect all spheres of society and, the system of education, in particular. The main priority of education is the formation of a highly skilled specialist. This applies especially for teachers whose professional competences, according to modern requirements, should be unified for more productive professional activity. It is emphasized that modern scholars are faced with the urgent need to improve the forms and methods of training future teachers of fine arts, forming their professional competence, which will become a part of the New Ukrainian School. Teachers of the new formation should become agents of changes. Modern teachers are coaches, facilitators, tutors and effective moderators of the individual educational path of a child. On the basis of scientific analysis of the regulatory framework and educational needs, the necessity to add the discipline «Basics of creative design» to the specialized training of the teachers of fine arts is substantiated. This necessity is connected with implementation of the Concept of the New Ukrainian School. The logical structure of the discipline «Basics of Creative Design» is presented, which becomes a key element in the training of the teachers of fine arts of the New Ukrainian School, where design training is clue. Under such conditions, there is a need for in-depth study of design technologies in the training of the teachers of fine arts. The opportunities of creative design in professional activity of the teachers of fine arts are distinguished individually. The author notes that the study of the discipline «Basics of creative design» will provide a high level of professional competence of teachers of fine arts. It will give an opportunity to carry out their professional activity on a qualitatively new level. Thus, the discipline «Basics of Creative Design» has a great theoretical and practical significance for the professional training of modern teachers of fine arts in higher educational institutions and it is necessary for high-quality professional activity at the New Ukrainian School.
