Abstract
 In our study discusses methods for assessing the competitiveness of goods: their types, essence and approach to each of them, existing shortcomings. In the center is of the consideration of each method based on the analysis and accuracy of the assessment, and attention is also drawn to the lack of a unified approach to assessment and the problem with its development. In today's market conditions, business structures that produce goods or services cannot constantly maintain their market positions, so increasing productivity and keeping it at a high level is very important. Competition acts as the highest motivating force that forces business structures to improve the quality of their products, goods, works or services, reduce production costs, and increase labor productivity. The means of competition are the goods and services by which competing firms seek to win recognition and get money from the consumer. In this regard, business structures in the furniture market need to investigate the impact of globalization and solve the problems of managing competitiveness and direct the results obtained to solve the primary tasks set for the industry on a digital development path. The competitiveness of business structures in the furniture market is their ability to successfully compete in the market and receive economic profit relative to competitors. The survival of business structures in a competitive, unstable and changeable external environment should be based on a constant and comprehensive analysis of the activities of competitors, their own strategic potential and evaluation of the effectiveness of its use, as well as a real assessment of the position of the business structure in the market for goods and services relative to competitors, i. e. an objective assessment of the competitiveness of the business structure. That is why there are many methods and techniques for increasing the competitiveness of a business structure. In the course of the study, methods of structural, systemic and functional analysis, graphical and mathematical methods, survey and questioning methods were used.
