Abstract

The author of the article uses various sources to depict the reception and settlement of deported ethnic groups in the Zhambyl region. The article highlights that, despite some local resistance, the inherent kindness and hospitality of the Kazakhs generally prevailed, overshadowing the regime's ideological dictates. This occurred in a context where local collective farmers often did not receive adequate food for their labor, and their children faced starvation. The conclusion of the article underscores that, despite enduring severe hardships, the deported peoples managed to overcome these challenges. With the support of the Kazakh community's tolerance, they not only secured an education but also improved their social and economic status, ultimately finding a new homeland in Kazakhstan.
