Abstract

The article examines an attempt of involving students-historians into work with family archives. By a concrete example, the author describes the procedure of students’ preparation for this type of scientific research, identifies the role and level of a teacher’s participation in the process of applying the oral history method by students. The researcher concludes on the need to attract students to work with personal archives from the first years of professional development, determines the positive impact of this activity on students’ moral development and on the formation of their professional and general cultural competencies.
