Abstract
This paper reviews a series of articles devoted to rare-earth carbonatites of the Vuoriyarvi alkaline-ultrabasic complex (Murmansk region). The basis for these articles is a comprehensive study that involved petrographic-mineralogical and geochemical methods, analysis of fluid inclusions and a wide range of isotope systems (Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, C, O, He, Ar), and the development of several original research methods. The result of these investigations is a consistent model for the accumulation, deposition, and subsequent dilution of the accumulated REE ores in carbonatites, applicable to the rocks of the Vuoriyarvi massif and other similar objects all over the world.
