Abstract

Career guidance of federal universities is regarded in the paper as an agent of development in Russian regions from the perspective of system, resource, competency-based, information, and management approaches. The management component of career guidance at federal universities is demonstrated through the specific nature of the management bodies in this regard (department, center, service, pre-university education department). Traditional pre-university training models (skills contests, competitions, conferences, schools) are described. New formats of career guidance at universities (online webinars, virtual skills contests, festivals, virtual classrooms, vocational guidance quest games) are presented. They are created to meet modern challenges and demands of digital education and labor market, the requirements of the social and economic development of Russian regions. The study reveals the contradictions of modern career guidance and ways to resolve them.
