Abstract
It analyses main tasks and directions of reforming the national education system within the framework of Ukraine's integration into the European economic and educational space. The main economic and educational trends are identified. They should be used as the basis for modernization changes. The role of scientific and educational institutions for defining and implementing main vectors of scientific and methodological support to update national technological, professional and professional pre-high education is described. As an example, the activity of the Institute of vocational education and training of the National academy of educational sciences of Ukraine as a scientific institution designed to carry out scientific justification and support of necessary modernization processes is summarized. It characterizes main directions of scientific and experimental activities of the Institute such as personal-development pedagogical technologies perfection, managing VET development in the market economy environment; methodical basis for designing manuals of new generation, studying specific features of skilled workers training under high-tech industry, competence-based VET content design, studying European educational agenda and best practices in the field of vocational education and training, designing VET schools’ information-educational environment, support and validation of methodological approaches to Vet and pre-high education standardization, creating modern project-based VET technologies, development of students-counselling services` at VET schools, creating the system of distance professional training in VET schools. The attention is focused on the need to ensure continuity in implementing tasks for modernization technological, professional (vocational) and professional pre-high (advanced) education.
