Abstract

The monograph reveals various aspects of the perception of the Russian writer's work in China: the history of his translations and publications, from the 1920s to the present, the history and methodology of studying his work by Chinese scientists, comparing their interpretations with the works of Russian literary critics, the importance of Bunin from the point of view of Chinese state policy. A comparative analysis of a number of Bunin's texts and the works of Chinese writers is given. Special attention is paid to the disclosure of the artistic philosophy of the writer's "cosmism", his commitment to the wisdom of the East. Using the examples of the analysis of prose and poetic works, it is shown that the East, in Bunin's understanding, combines various religious and philosophical teachings - Orthodoxy, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism.
