Abstract

The article deals with the problems of professional competence formation of the future specialists of social sphere in the context of analysis the professional self-education definitions. The author analyzes the state of research of the professional self-education problem in modern science and practice. The author analyzes the content of the concept of self-education, reveals the essence of the professional self-education definition in the context of the professional modern social worker competence. The article presents the author’s definition of the professional self-education concept as a conscious activity of a person, aimed at improving personality in accordance with the requirements of the chosen specialty. The author systematically examines the process of professional self-education, distinguishing the appropriate stages: identifying the attitude of students to the process of self-education, diagnostics of inductive motives, level of consciousness; manifestation of initiative, desire and aspiration for self-improvement and professional growth; development of a self-education program adapted to the abilities, professional interests and opportunities of future specialists; realization of the program of self-education by involving students into the practical training, performing socially important tasks, motivating to social-professional activity and expressing oneself as a specialist. The author considers the problems of professional self-education as a complex model of the specialist’s self-development in the social sphere. The article substantiates the necessity of qualitatively constructive changes in the organization of the process of specialists training in the social sphere with an emphasis on creating conditions for activating the value-motivational sphere of the student’s personality. The author defines the professional self-education as a mechanism of professional growth and personal development of a modern specialist. The article analyzes the aspects of the content, goals, methods of professional self-education of students as the priority components of the professional competence of the modern specialist in the social sphere.
