Abstract

This paper presents a method to obtain the mapping relationship between the pier settlement and the rail deformation of high-speed railways in the case of unit slab track system. Based on the mechanism analysis of rail deformation along with pier settlement, the analytic expression of the mapping relationship between pier settlement and rail deformation in unit slab track system is deduced. The results of the analytic expression and the corresponding FEM model are compared. Finally, the length of rail deformation area with different settlement is analyzed. The results show that the analytical rail deformation curve agreed quite well with the simulation result, indicating that both the analytic expression and the FEM model are available to figure out the mapping relationship between pier settlement and rail deformation in unit slab track system. The excitation frequency caused by high-speed trains running through the pier settlement area is close to the natural frequency of car body, which would have a big influence on the car body vibration.
