Abstract

As the 21st century society becomes rapidly globalized, international
teaching practicum is proposed as one of effective ways for enhancing teachers’
competences for teaching students of diverse backgrounds. Considering that
Yungbokhap education is proposed as a reform movement for student
empowerment, this research investigates the change in the preservice teachers’
perception of Yungbokhap education in the context of an international
teaching practicum. For the purpose, we collected the preservice teachers’
reflection journals and transcripts of practicum conferences for analysis. The
results of the analysis revealed the practicum positively contributed to
enhancing the preservice teachers’ competences for Yunbokhap education. Based
on the results, we discuss implications for international teaching practicum.
