Abstract

This study focused on entrepreneurship, organizational innovation behavior, and risk acceptance climate among the factors affecting the non-financial performance of Chinese artificial intelligence startups. Through this, it was intended to conduct controlled mediating effect analysis beyond simple mediating analysis and moderating effect analysis. An online self-report questionnaire was conducted for members working for artificial intelligence startups, and a total of 251 responses were finally used for analysis. The research results are summarized as follows. In research hypothesis 1, it was found that the three sub-factors of entrepreneurship, innovation, initiative, and risk sensitivity, had a positive and statistically significant effect on non-financial performance. In research hypothesis 2, the structure in which the effect of entrepreneurship on non-financial performance is mediated by innovative behavior was revealed. The total effect of entrepreneurship was found to be 1.016, and when innovative behavior was included as a parameter, the direct effect of entrepreneurship decreased to 0.825, and the indirect effect was calculated to be 0.192. In research hypothesis 3, it was confirmed that the moderated mediating effect of entrepreneurship on non-financial performance through innovative behavior in the average and ±1SD of risk acceptance atmosphere was statistically significant. Through this, it provided an opportunity to think comprehensively from a theoretical and practical point of view by analyzing how entrepreneurs' entrepreneurship affects non-financial performance.
