Abstract

This study explored in-depth the relationship between the elderly's awareness of AI and their daily satisfaction, information production sharing, networking, and social capital. The study used panel data from the '2023 Digital Information Gap Survey' conducted by the National Institute for Intelligence and Information Society (NIA), and analyzed 1,910 respondents out of 2,300 people aged 55 and over, excluding 390 non-respondents. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analyses were conducted using SPSS 23.0 and SPSS Process Macro, and the results of the study are as follows. AI awareness among the elderly has a significant effect on daily life satisfaction, and there is a direct dual mediation effect of information sharing and networking between AI awareness and daily life satisfaction, and a moderated mediation effect of social capital between AI awareness and information sharing production. This study will contribute to the establishment of a social support system and draw implications for promoting digital inclusion and strengthening social connections by effectively utilizing A.I. technology to prevent the elderly from being left behind in a changing society, and provide new perspectives that have not been addressed in previous studies.
