Abstract
In the proposed work, the problem of the functioning of phraseological units in journalistic and artistic texts related to military actions in Ukraine is raised. The views of language researchers on the specificity of phraseological semantics in the conditions of journalistic and artistic styles are analyzed in order to identify the worldview priorities of Ukrainian society during the period of fullscale invasion. The process of phraseologising the thought expressed by a person is considered as a separate spectrum of intellectual creativity based on a personal perception of the surrounding world. Attention is paid to the speech activity of a public person in the context of drawing a picture of the world in the conditions of modern Ukrainian reality. The specifics of the inclusion of figurative language units in the language fabric of journalistic and artistic texts with the aim of expressing the reaction of Ukrainians to the full-scale Russian invasion have been revealed. The opinion is emphasized that in the semantics of the phraseological units included in the analysis, the mental and worldview separateness of the Ukrainian people is encoded through the identification of their moral and spiritual priorities dictated by the war. It is noted that phraseological units play the role of a specific tool, with the help of which the process of self-identification of both an individual and the nation as a whole takes place. It is proven that the semantics of the given phraseological units encodes important information about Ukrainians' reinterpretation of some basic worldview values, which gives grounds for understanding what the end of hostilities in Ukraine should be like. It is concluded that figurative language units that actively function in these texts encode valuable information about how Ukrainians perceive Russian aggression and what spiritual and moral values prevail in modern Ukrainian society.
