Abstract
This study searched the process of recognizing the problem of hate from the perspective of elementary school teachers, and based on this, explored a method to approach the lesson on hate in the elementary school classroom. The implications of the study results are as follows. First, it attempts a step-by-step approach to understand hate in terms of class content, and actively utilizes counter-speech and culture against it rather than extreme and negative hate speech. Second, through socio-economic background and cultural understanding of hate cases, it provides a perspective that can objectively look at the feelings of hate arising from prejudice or stereotypes. Third, the direction is required to be action-oriented and transformative learning using materials that are connected to the daily life of students. Finally, it was emphasized that the purpose of the class on hate is ultimately to cultivate desirable citizenship. In addition, this study has the significance of centering the process of teachers approaching classes from the bottom up.
