Abstract
In the Kurgan region there is a shortage of water resources and the issue of water supply is particularly acute in rural areas. Such a situation leads to an increase in water-related diseases and may result in an intensification of migration from the region. The aim of this study is to identify the correlation between the level of mineralization in the underground water used for drinking water supply in rural settlements of the region and the incidence of diseases among the population. As a result of the research, a map of the average mineralization of the first aquifer in the Kurgan region was created. A spatial analysis was conducted, which showed the proportion of areas with different levels of mineralization within the region. A correlation between the average mineralization of underground water and the incidence of diseases among the rural population of the region was established.
