Abstract

As the use of artificial intelligence(AI) technology in psychological interventions is graduallyexpanding with the increase of remote disaster psychological support, this study aimed toexplore the strengths and limitations of AI-based disaster psychological support platforms, theiralternatives, and development directions based on the experiences of disaster psychologicalsupport practitioners. To this end, an online survey was conducted with 282 practitioners whohad experience in remote disaster psychological support, and a qualitative content analysis wasconducted on the surveyed data. As a result, three categories including nine concepts werederived for 'strengths of disaster psychological support through AI-based platforms'; fivecategories including eight concepts were derived for 'limitations of disaster psychologicalsupport through AI-based platforms'; and 14 categories including 44 concepts were derived for'alternatives and platform development directions'. Based on this, we proposed the developmentdirection of an AI-based platform in the area of disaster psychological support, which requiresefficient and comprehensive resource linkage and case management.
