Abstract

The geopolitical, socio-cultural, economic changes that have arisen in society are an impetus to the development of extremist manifestations and the terrorist threat, which causes and underlines the urgency and vital need for a deeper study and improvement of the psychological training of police officers in places of public events. The study was aimed at improving the process of psychological support of the activities of employees of internal affairs bodies in order to increase efficiency in the performance of official duties in crowded places. The theoretical and methodological basis of the work consisted of regulatory legal acts, the work of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of mass psychology, work psychology, legal psychology, psychological theory of activity and organization of psychological support for the profession, as well as empirical data obtained during the study of the psychological support of police officers in crowded places. The pilot phase of the work was based on a questionnaire and statistical data processing methods. 100 respondents took part in the survey. The results obtained served as the basis for developing recommendations for improving the psychological support of police officers in crowded places. The proposals to improve the psychological support of the activities of police officers in crowded places were formulated.
