Abstract

The articles published in the Kabardino-Balkarian State University electronic journal “Kavkazologiya” are studied. Special focus is made on the articles devoted to the study of various issues of the historical and modern development of the peoples of the North Caucasus. General problems of regional development are analyzed in the works of A.Kh. Borov, B.S. Karamurzov and other authors. P.A. Kuz'minov, Ya.A. Gordin, A.V. Venkov and others explored Russian-Caucasian relations in the XVI–XIX centuries. The methodological and historiographic comprehension of the Russian-Caucasian historical interaction are viewed in the works of M.E. Kolesnikova, A.N. Maksimchik, A.A. Zhurtova, V.V. Tsibenko and others. Various questions of the historical memory and its role in social life of the peoples of the North Caucasus are studied by G.M. Derlug'yan, E.A. Sheudzhen, Yu.M. Azikova and others. Z.Ya. Emtyl', S.A. Aylarova, E.G. Muratova and others explore the process of formation and development of the regional intellectual elite, as a special social group that creates and spreads new spiritual values in the society. Social and political processes in the North Caucasus are studied by Zh.-F. Dyumon, D.I. Uznarodov and others. The problems of the development of the raditional society and gender issues are discussed in the works of L.P. Zabolotnaya, Z.V. Kanukova, M.A. Tekueva, E.A. Nal'chikova and others. The editors of the joural “Kavkazologiya” together with the authors carry out a great work for the introduction of new historical and historiographic sources into the scientific circulation; they conduct complex scientific study of the history, culture and modern development of the Caucasus in its close relationship with the all-Russian and global processes. The journal provides the popularization of the achievements of modern Caucasian Studies on the all-Russian and international level.
