Abstract

From ancient times, water sedimentation has been used to clarify it. Initially, non-flowing and then flowing tanks were used for water clarification. Nowadays, water settling takes place in settling tanks. According to the direction of water movement, they are divided into vertical, horizontal and radial. From the 1950s began to use thin-layer settlers. They can be used to intensify traditional settling tanks, as well as operated as stand-alone facilities. In this paper the method of calculation of the combined horizontal settling tank is developed and substantiated. An example of sedimentation calculation for further modeling and research based on analytical studies is given. The proposed method of calculating the combined horizontal settling tank will allow calculating such structures and developing their models for research, which will significantly reduce the cost of experiments.
