Abstract
School violence is a socially complex phenomenon that manifests itself in aggressive behaviors and incidents that unfold within the school environment. The phenomena are more and more intense over the years and affect students in all their fields of action. Also, due to population movements, many people with cultural heterogeneity live in Greece in recent years. Their daily contact leads to possible conflicts that carry over to school. For this qualitative research, the semi-structured interview tool was used for data collection. The sample was 10 primary school teachers, who were teachers of classes with cultural heterogeneity. According to the results of the survey, the occurrence of school violence phenomena is influenced by the existence of pupils with different cultural backgrounds, due to various factors such as fear and insecurity, perceptions and attitudes of parents and teachers, as well as the number of pupils with cultural heterogeneity attending a class, the prestige of the country of origin of foreign pupils, the area where the school is housed and due to issues of intercultural competence.
