Abstract

The article is devoted to studying and analysing the verbalized concept ВОЛОС/ШАШ/HAIR in the Russian, Kazakh and English languages. The linguo-culturological study focuses on the problems of implicit cultural meanings imprinted in wedding rituals, rites, traditions and superstitions. Examining the content of the concept ВОЛОС/ШАШ/HAIR the author identifies its cultural meanings and concludes about the unique national and cultural features of the three linguo-cultural communities and about universal principles of these peoples’ naive worldviews.
