Abstract

This paper investigates the interlanguage of Non-Native-Speakers of German (mother tongue Greek) who have already acquired English as a first foreign language when acquiring German as a second foreign language. In order to examine their interlanguage a Grammaticality Judgement Task was conducted, where the ‘Pro-drop Parameter’ was being investigated. The results of the Grammaticality Judgement Task show that none of the languages that the Non-Native-Speakers already know play a more significant role than the other. The theoretical model that best describes their interlanguage is that of Flynn, Foley & Vinnitskaya (2004), namely, the ‘Cumulative-Enhancement Model for Language Acquisition’.
