Abstract

Hydrocarbon resources development of the Russian Arctic Shelf requires improving of special clothing, designed for oil-and-gas production workers under low-temperature conditions. The main subject of the research is the analysis of modern special heat-protective clothing for oil-and-gas production workers. The article reviews protective characteristics of the special clothing, which provide properties of materials, and design as well in a detail. A special focus is on innovative solutions of inland and foreign manufacturers of special clothing that consider peculiarities of work in offshore branches of industry. The conducted analysis shows that nowadays employees working at offshore gas and oil producing platforms use traditional special clothing, designed in accordance with safety requirements in Oil and Gas Industry, which do not consider working conditions on gas and oil producing facilities. The main result of the analysis is justification of necessity to adapt special clothing for gas and oil producing workers with regard to peculiarities of offshore conditions of oil-and-gas production on the Russian Arctic Shelf.
