Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide physiological data and training programs according to gender by comparing and analyzing the difference between the isokinetic muscular function of the knee joint, aerobic and anaerobic exercise ability, and basic physical fitness in middle school male and female taekwondo athletes. Independent t-test was applied to two groups. This study was that male athletes showed significantly higher right(p.01), left(p.01) extensors and flexors than female athletes at the knee joint in 60°/sec. Also, male athletes showed significantly higher right(p.001), left(p.001) extensors and right(p.01), left(p.01) flexors than female athletes at the knee joint in 180°/sec. This study was that male athletes showed significantly higher VO₂max(p.01) than female athletes. And male athletes showed significantly higher peak power(p.001), peak power of per body weight(p.001), average power(p.001), total energy(p.001) than female athletes. This study was that male athletes showed significantly higher back strength,(p.001) sit-up(p.01), sargent jump(p.001), standing long jump(p.001), sound reaction of the whole body(p.001), light reaction of the whole body(p.05) than female athletes. In conclusion, this study was suggested that middle school taekwondo athletes were showed differences in isokinetic muscle function of the knee joint, aerobic exercise ability, anaerobic exercise ability, and basic physical fitness according to the gender.
