The article reveals the main provisions of the normative and legal documents in the field of education regarding the work of the team in the professional activity of the future teacher of primary school: Concepts of the implementation of the state policy in the general reform secondary education  is «New Ukrainian School» for the period up to 2029, State standards of elementary education, State standards of higher education of Ukraine in specialty of 013 Primary education and others. It has been established that work in a team is one of the key cross-cutting abilities of the individual within the competency-based approach to lifelong education: from primary to professional and self-education. Therefore, the problem of higher education in specialty of 013 Primary education is binary: first, the formation skills of the work of a team for the future teacher of primary school, and secondly, the training of future teachers of primary school to organize the work of pupils in the team. It is concluded that work in the team develops in an individual of leadership qualities, provides for the ability to express creative abilities of all team members, forms creative and critical thinking, and the ability to achieve a common goal in a rational distribution of responsibilities.
