Abstract

In modern conditions, the role of innovative economic growth in the development of countries is great. Innovative economic growth has a positive effect on the country's GDP, the level of budget revenues, the creation of new jobs and the sustainable development of the national economy as a whole. The innovative development of the national economy depends on the level of use of information and communication technologies (ICT). This is because ICT allows large amounts of information to be transferred quickly to all businesses at a very low cost, regardless of distance. All these aspects show how important it is to correctly assess the role of information and communication technologies in ensuring innovative economic growth in the country. The main purpose of the article is to correctly assess the role of information and communication technologies in ensuring innovative economic growth in the country and to study the existing problems in this area. The article substantiates the need to ensure innovative economic growth in the country. The necessity of adopting Regional innovation programs for each region to ensure the innovative development of all regions of the country is substantiated. Organizational, technical, technological, social, economic and other measures to be implemented in the areas of sustainable development of regions in regional innovation programs have been determined. The role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in ensuring innovative economic growth has been studied. Direct and indirect factors influencing the development of ICT are revealed. Some legislative and normative-legal acts adopted in the development of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan are considered. Based on the data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the current state of development of the ICT sector was analyzed, including the share of value added in the country's ICT sector in GDP, output in the ICT sector, the purpose and nature of the use of the Internet. Recommendations are given to increase the rate of effective use of ICT and, on this basis, innovative economic growth.
