Abstract

Objectives: The aimed to understand the current state, knowledge, attitude of digital radiation safety management in dental medical institutions, and to find ways to secure radiation safety management in dental medical institutions. Methods: This study conducted a convenience-sampled online survey (Google questionnaire) targeting 290 dental hygienists working in clinical settings from June 3 to June 24, 2023. Results: There is a positive correlation between Knowledge related to radiography (Knowledge), attitudes during radiography (Attitudes), and practices regarding radiation protection (Practices). When Knowledge is high, Attitudes (r=.181) and Practices (r=.284) are also high, and there is a positive correlation between Attitudes and Practices (r=.542). Conclusions: It is believed that institutional arrangements are needed to strengthen radiation safety management rules and laws and improve Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices.
