Abstract

Climate change poses a significant threat to the ecosystems and biodiversity of the Niger Republic, especially given the critical role of vegetation cover in maintaining the resilience of local ecosystems. This study analyzed the impact of climate change on vegetation in Niger using geoinformation systems and remote sensing technologies. The main research method was the analysis of satellite data from MODIS, Landsat and Sentinel, as well as the use of climate data from the NASA POWER Data Access Viewer portal. The results showed a significant increase in average annual temperatures and a decrease in precipitation in various climatic zones of the country, which negatively affects the state of vegetation and agriculture. NDVI analysis revealed degradation of vegetation cover in the northern and eastern regions of the country, indicating the need to develop adaptation strategies and sustainable management of natural resources.
