Abstract

This article provides a theoretical analysis of the importance of economic zoning in the Russian Federation at the federal and regional levels. The article emphasizes that administrative-territorial division plays a key role in the analysis of economic indicators and in the development of strategic development. At the federal level, there are eight federal districts, each of which defines several subjects of the Russian Federation. At the regional level, programs and measures are being implemented to support and stimulate the economic development of different regions. It is considered that economic zoning is aimed at achieving sustainable and balanced development of the regions as a whole, improving the quality of life of the population and attracting investment.
