Abstract

The article provides a survey of international language exams, shows possibilities for integration of their meaningful component into the domestic higher professional education system as an assessment means and means of teaching. The authors reveal an educational potential and justify efficiency of using educational and methodological content of such exams from the viewpoint of the principle of professional orientation of foreign-language education. The paper describes the authors’ experience of using the textbook ‘Teaching Knowledge Test’ while teaching a foreign language to future elementary school teachers.
