Abstract
The aim of this study is to find a simple method for the regional analysis. It should classify an are a in comparison with the others using a mesh analysis. This study concerns Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo. At the beginning we have made the categolically classified map in 42 cases, and estimated the co-relationship inbetween two parameters out of 42. Then we analyzed the 42 parameters by Varimax-method. For the purpose of making an homogeneous ares, we show three method. 1. Using the factor analysis, we pick up 8 parameters, -population, total length of sidewalk, total floor area of whole building, trafic accidents, area of park and green space, area of land use for housing, number of enterprices, number of telephone, we show the fan shape graph which means the classification from to 9 grades on the centrifugal direction. We distinguish several meshes by this pattern. 2. Exchanging a relationship between mesh as a data and parameters, we classify each mesh into 8 factors. In this case, some meshes which belong to the same factor should be same characteristics accumlating datas of 42. 3. Using the same 8 parameters as No.1, but calculating the weight vector by the computer, we count the factor score of each 8 parameters, then with the first three factors, we have got the eight different combinations. Conclusion; A meaning of each method should be a little different, but the pattern in result are similar. The first method is very significant. However, We utilize the second and third methods in stead of the first.
