Abstract

This study aims at figuring out the female disabled’s participation in sports and the policies, and making suggestions for policies to extend female disabled’s participation sports. In order to achieve the research goals, life and professional sports for female disabled were classified, and then, the current status and policies about them were reviewed. With the comprehensive analysis on disabled life sports survey, data by the department of disabled sports in the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and the sports persons registration system, results reports, and project plans of KPC, and the expert meetings the policy suggestions were made. In order to extend female disabled’s participation in sports, five suggestions are made as follows: First, in order to invigorate life sports for female disabled, it is required to develop and spread life sports programs and to create and run projects by subject. Second, it is necessary to continue to increase coaches of life sports for female disabled and train and dispatch these coaches for female sports persons. Third, the facilities need those for sports specialized in disabled and the spaces for them, and shall be considered for access to the existed public sports facilities. Fourth, the government shall support intensively life and professional sports for female disabled sports persons. Fifth, KPC, provincial and city sports committees, and alliances by genre shall cooperate to discover and raise female disabled sports persons. For the suggestions of this study, it is necessary to research the projects and goals wanted by female disabled. Second, it is required to conduct basic and demand investigation for female disabled only and offer basic sources for extending their participation in sports.
