Abstract
In this paper, we theoretically review the contextuality of the difference between Christendom church and missional church. Unlike the early church, the church of Christendom focuses on establishing and maintaining clericalism within the church, but missional church considers the field (the world) very important because it accepts the field (the world) as the place where the Triune God loves, the stage on which He does missions, and the place where His glory is revealed. Blue Light Church understands the identity of a pastor as a missionary rather than a parish officer. And church members understand faith as ‘a life that testifies to God’s work’ beyond the boundary of the church. In addition, for appropriately witnessing the Gospel to different generations in Korea, Blue Light Church are working together with other missional churches.
