Abstract
The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of the students majoring in webtoon on the use of generative AI and the core competencies of their majors. To this end, a survey was conducted on 187 students in webtoon-related departments.
 As a result of the study, 105 students were aware of what generative AI was, accounting for 55.6%, and when asked about its use in the future, it showed a high percentage of negative views. When looking at the effect of major core competencies on the use of generative AI, communication was found to have no significant influence on the use of generative AI, and collaboration was found to have a significant influence on the use of generative AI. It can be seen that self-development and problem-solving have a significant influence on the use of generative AI, and flexibility has no significant influence on the use of generative AI.
 Based on the identified research results, this study suggested as an alternative to consider students who are prospective creators when opening majors using generative AI in webtoon-related departments.
