Abstract

The remote islands, Off-Grid to main land, rely on diesel generation for their own electricity supply. In order to decrease Carbon gas production, diesel generation should be minimized and renewable energy applications such as wind energy and solar energy should be expanded. In this study, 230 ㎾ class wind turbine was analyzed the internal temperature of generator using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) for energy independent island. The 230 ㎾-class Generator internal for thermal flow analysis was analyzed the Electromagnetic Field Analysis and output characteristic used the ANSYS Maxwell program. The best cooling effect is case of 6 Air Holes and The maximum temperature difference of a permanent magnet checked the 6.5℃. The 6 Air Holes case of a permanent magnet maximum temperature is similar with the whole Air Holes case of a permanent magnet maximum temperature. As a result, it was confirmed that the cooling effects of permanent magnets of The 6 Air Holes case and the whole Air Holes case were the same.
