Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of «traditiology» as a separate scientific direction conceptualized by E. S. Markaryan in the framework of culturology. The characteristic of traditiology is given, the main aspects of scientific research in this field are indicated. Some actual problems of modern traditiology are touched upon. Among these, there are: the issue of a clear separation of traditions and innovations in culture; the establishment of age-specific features of the transition of innovation into tradition; as well as the factor of psychomental aspects of perception of various cultural phenomena as traditions and innovations. Attention is paid to the issues of socio-cultural engineering of the tradition of the sphere, humanitarian technologies aimed at correcting, modeling and maintaining traditions.
