Abstract

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify students’ nursing activities and core skills, and to compare clinical competency and clinical practice satisfaction with the clinical nursing practice in women’s health nursing.
 Methods : The data were collected using Naver Online-questionnaire from 96 nursing students. The data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and the Pearson’s correlation coefficient.
 Result : The contents of nursing activities in delivery room and obstetric gynecologic ward differed by the hospital type. Clinical competency was the lowest nursing process, nursing skills. Clinical practice satisfaction was the lowest practice contents, and field leaders’ practical guidance was higher in general hospital than in women’s hospital. Clinical competency and clinical practice satisfaction showed significant positive correlation.
 Conclusion : To improve the quality of clinical nursing activities, active guidance from practical guidance professors and practical hospital is required, and the personnel dedicated to education should be used for the practical training.
