Abstract
The article analyzes the works of Professor Marian Demskyi on the problems of phraseology, in particular, his contribution to the linguistic heritage of Ivan Franko, consolidation of the concept of “subject of phraseology”, approval of terminological tools (phraseological level, phraseme, phrasemic meaning). It highlights the scholar's achievements in the field of scientific interpretation of the onomasiological and semantic-grammatical nature of phraseological units, their derivation, intra-systemic relationships, etymology, etc.
