Abstract

The article aims to describe the opposite strategies of the society identification under the conditions of the global world. One of the strategies is based on the notion “openness”, on the conception of recently dominating universalistic global tendencies under which the socium identity is impossible. The other strategy is based on the notion “separation”, on the long-established conception of certainty as a natural ontological characteristic. It allows the author to suggest a new interpretation of the socium identity as objective certainty determining the socium ability to preserve its identity under the change of the determinants of its vital activity.
