Abstract

The checklist of spiders (Arachnida: Araneae) in the national parks of Korea has been revised in accordance with a recent classification system. Comparison of the previous checklist with the current National Species List of Korea (2023) and the World Spider Catalog revealed several cases of changes, such as synonymy, misidentification, generic recombination, and revalidation. Through the Natural Resource Research and other surveys, some species were discovered as being new to the spider fauna in Korea, but have not been formally reported in any publications, and should be added to the National Species List. Moreover, a list of 117 species that have been recorded in national parks in Korea but were not included in the previous checklist is provided. Combining the results of the taxonomic revision (622 species) and the number of species newly recorded, a total of 739 species of spiders are currently known to inhabit the national parks of Korea. Additionally, a list of 134 species is provided, of which the national parks are the type locality.
