Abstract
The article is dedicated to an analysis of the reform of the funded component of the pension system of the Russian Federation. The author reviews its last stage associated with the adoption of the Long-Term Savings Program (LTSP) in accordance with Federal Law No. 299-ФЗ of July 10, 2023. Introduction of LTSP is the turning point in the development of the Russian pension system. The paper studies specific positive changes adopted within the framework of LTSP and the remaining unaddressed issues. A conclusion is made that LTSP is a long overdue measure, however, major efforts are still required for the funded component to reach the required level.
