Abstract

“Chingiz Aitmatov and Music,” the author analyzes the issues of the relationship between Ch. Aitmatov’s creativity and music. Moreover, these relationships are considered at two levels: music, its role in the works of Ch. Aitmatov and the musical interpretation of the works of the great writer. The author shows the role of music in revealing the characters of Aitmatov’s heroes, in deepening the content of works, as an element of poetry and as a tool for philosophical reflection. When considering the musical interpretation of Aitmatov’s works, the author dwells on identifying, according to the comparative typological method, the similarities and differences between opera productions, as well as the musical accompaniments of the writer’s screen works, showing the strengths and weaknesses of opera productions and screen adaptations in the context of intercultural relationships, as well as the peculiarities of the actors’ performances, their originality and skill, some shortcomings and omissions in the musical interpretation of images.
