Abstract
The article analyses the images of Larisa Ogudalova and Paratov (the play “Without a Dowry” by A. N. Ostrovsky). Basing on the fundamental psychoanalytic works by C. G. Jung, K. Kerenyi, as well as J. Hillman, G. Bachelard, J. Seinfeld and so on, we have examined the worldview guidelines of Paratov’s actions. The subject of the analysis in the paper is the type of a “fake hero” (illusionist), unprincipled, inhuman, disdainful of others’ feelings, who caused the tragedy and death of the main heroine experiencing genuine drama associated with the illusion of true love for Paratov.
