Abstract

A total of 345 individuals of Octopus minor were collected in the mud flat, Korea from May 2017 to November 2017. The mantle size of O. minor ranged from 2.3 to 9.3cm in mantle length(ML), and most of individuals were about 7cm (ML). O. minor was a carnivore which consumed mainly brachyurans. Its diets also included a small amount of bivalves, macurans, stomatopods, anomurans, and gammarid amphipods. The diets of O. minor underwent size-related changes; smaller individuals consumed polychaetes, while larger individuals ate bivalves and brachyurans. The dietary breadth index of O. minor was increased with increasing of their size.
