Abstract

The article deals with the issues of infrastructure support for rural development. A comparison of individual indicators of socio-economic development of rural regions in the countries of the organization for Economic Cooperation and development is presented. Rural areas are also detailed by state regions. The place and role of rural areas in the country's economic development is substantiated. The problems of infrastructure support for rural development are presented. Among the problems of social infrastructure development, the curtailment of socio-cultural and outpatient services, the deterioration of rural improvement, and the growth of social tension in rural areas are highlighted. The problems of developing the transport infrastructure of the village are the lack of proper transport infrastructure, poor quality of road surface, and high deterioration of the transport fleet. It is noted that the production infrastructure of rural areas also has problems related to the destruction of production capacities, outdated material and technical base. The article outlines the directions of infrastructure support for rural development. These areas are following: development of transport infrastructure in rural areas, promotion and support of local community initiatives to effectively use the potential opportunities of rural areas, development and effective implementation of rural development programs; stimulating the development of farms, developing the social infrastructure of rural areas, restoring the social potential of the village, restoring the production infrastructure of rural areas, and producing organic products.
